Hello Everyone, my name is Jimmy.  When I first came to the Barry County Animal Shelter last November as a stray, I was happy to be fed and to have a warm place to sleep.   But, now it seems like I am becoming a permanent resident at the shelter!  I really need a forever family who will love, appreciate and understand me!  I love to go for walks, get and give hugs.  I am a good listener who loves treats.  You just have to understand that I probably should be your "one and only dog" because I don't always get along with others.  Please come visit me and give me a chance.  

If, after meeting me, you realize that I'm not a perfect match for your home and family, please, please do me a huge favor and tell your friends and family about me.  Please remember to include all of my great qualities like:  a handsome guy; loves leisurely walks; good listener; will love for treats;  and I will love whoever, finally, takes me home forever!!

Hello Everyone!  My name is Layla.  I have been at the Barry County Animal Shelter for months!  For several weeks, I was in heat and pretty much left alone in my kennel, away from other dogs and not even being walked.  It was okay at first to be in a warm place with regular food and water. But now that I have been receiving more TLC from volunteers - being walked and hugged and having my picture taken, it's becoming absolutely unbearable to be locked back up in a kennel all the time!  I desperately need a family to love that I can love back.  You just have to accept me as your "one and only girl" because I prefer not to be with other dogs.  

If, after meeting me, you realize that I may not be the perfect match for you, please, oh please, tell your friends and family about me!  Please remember to include my endearing qualities like:  pretty girl; sweet, huggable lap dog;  playful;  good listener; and I'll love my family
 with all of my heart!

These dogs are long overdue
